Driving a large motorhome can make it hard to see everything around you. The size and shape of these vehicles create big blind spots on the sides and behind. Standard side mirrors do not show the full view of nearby lanes, which can make changing lanes risky.
Backing into tight caravan spots or busy car parks can lead to accidents with low obstacles, posts, or people walking by. Drivers often find it hard to judge distances, which can make driving less safe and more tiring, especially on long trips.
Solution
Installing a multi-camera system is a reliable way to solve these visibility problems. By placing cameras in key spots around the outside, blind spots are removed.
A seven-inch monitor inside the driver’s cabin shows live video from all the cameras, so the driver can see every angle at once. Side cameras watch nearby traffic during lane changes, while the license plate and rear-view cameras cover the area right behind the motorhome.

Execution
At Adventure Additions Braeside, the technicians started by planning where each camera should go for the best view. They mounted the side cameras on the upper side panels of the Sunliner Switch cabin and angled them down to cover the full length of the sides.
The technicians ran the video cables from the side cameras through the walls, keeping all the wiring hidden and safe from the weather.
They installed the rear-view camera at the top back of the motorhome to give a wide view of the road behind. The license plate camera was fitted to the lower rear area to help with slow reversing and lining up a trailer.
Inside, the team mounted the seven-inch monitor on the dash and connected it to a safe, fused power source. They finished by setting up each camera, testing the automatic triggers, and adjusting the angles to make sure the driver has a clear view.
Results
The finished project gives the driver much better awareness of their surroundings. The seven-inch monitor shows clear, live video from the rear, license plate, and side cameras.
Blind spots on the sides and back of the Sunliner Switch S441 are gone. The driver can now change lanes, reverse, and park in tight spots with confidence and accuracy.
