An electric brake controller manages the braking power sent to a trailer’s wheels. It connects to the towing vehicle’s braking system, ensuring the trailer slows down in sync with the car. This reduces wear on the vehicle’s brakes and improves stopping distance. Without a brake controller, the trailer can push against the towing vehicle during braking, increasing strain and risk.
Adventure Additions installs electric brake controllers on cars, utes, SUVs, and 4x4s towing caravans, trailers, and work vehicles. Most installations use the REDARC Tow-Pro Elite V3 or Pro Elite range, mounted behind the dashboard with a dash-mounted control knob for real-time adjustment.

Most brake controllers installed by Adventure Additions offer two modes. Proportional mode monitors the vehicle’s deceleration and applies a matching braking force to the trailer, ensuring both vehicles slow down at the same rate. User-controlled mode allows the driver to apply the trailer brakes independently, which helps correct trailer sway or manage steep descents.
The control knob is typically mounted low on the dashboard or in a vacant switch blank, keeping it within easy reach without disrupting the factory interior.
Regular maintenance keeps your dual battery system working well for years. The technicians test voltage and current, do load tests, and check charging performance to make sure everything is running as it should.
