Rearview camera system for a Toyota Landcruiser and Australian Off-Road Quantum Caravan.

The customer was looking for a completely integrated rear vision camera system to assist him in monitoring surrounding traffic when towing his caravan. His vision was all but wholly blocked when he was towing his caravan.

Having ample experience installing rear vision camera systems for various circumstances, we consulted on numerous installation methods and equipment that corresponded with his needs.

We decided on a custom installation that included fabricating a custom-built bracket fastened to the spare tyre. Mounting the camera on the tyre ensured we didn’t need to drill into the caravan and provided an optimal viewing angle from the camera.

The chosen equipment was a Black AHD Camera which matched the black details of the caravan. It was mounted at a 92-degree viewing angle, matched with 6 inch AHD Dash Monitor for the Landcruiser, and connected using a Woza connection kit.

To protect the wiring from the elements and potential damage from exposure, wiring the Landcruiser to accept the new caravan camera required the removal of several panels through the driver’s side. All the well-hidden and protected wiring runs through the vehicle’s interior and exits the vehicle in the rear quarter panel, where it is connected with the Woza connection kit and custom-fabricated trailer bracket.
