Challenge
Most factory electrical systems in off-road vehicles can’t handle high-power 240V appliances. This means travellers struggle to use coffee machines, induction cooktops, or power tools when they’re far from home. Traditional lead-acid batteries also don’t store enough energy to run accessories for long without the engine.
Factory audio systems in tough vehicles often disappoint. Basic speakers usually lack clarity, especially in the bass range, which is noticeable in the large cabin. As a result, the sound can feel flat and is often lost in road and wind noise during long trips.
Solution
Adding a Powerpaul Lithium battery gives the vehicle strong energy storage, with deeper discharge and faster charging. When combined with an Invicta 2000W Inverter, the Grenadier can supply stable AC power for household devices. Together, these upgrades make the vehicle a reliable mobile power source.
To fix the sound issues, Adventure Additions installed a complete audio upgrade. This included a custom-built, carpeted subwoofer box in the rear cargo area, delivering deep bass that the original speakers couldn’t.
Professional installation is imperative to ensure the vehicle’s safety and integrity. Expert technicians ensure all high-current wiring is correctly sized and fused to prevent thermal failure or electrical fires. This approach protects the sensitive electronic architecture of the Ineos Grenadier while ensuring all manufacturer warranties remain intact.
Execution
The Adventure Additions team started by preparing the Grenadier’s interior and running 35mm DC power cables through the chassis and into the vehicle. They mounted the Powerpaul Lithium battery securely so it can handle off-road bumps. For AC power, they installed the Invicta 2000W Inverter in the rear storage area, ensuring it has adequate airflow for cooling during heavy use.
For the audio upgrade, the team removed the door panels and pillars to replace the main speakers. The main feature was a custom subwoofer box, shaped to fit the Grenadier’s cargo area and covered in matching automotive carpet. They added Mega Fuse kits at the battery to protect the new wiring. Finally, they adjusted the audio settings so the new subwoofer works well with the upgraded speakers.
Duration
The total installation time for this project at the Adventure Additions Braeside Facility was approximately 8 hours. This includes the technical labour for the electrical system, the custom audio fabrication, and a final system testing phase.
Results
The Ineos Grenadier now has a smart upgrade that covers both power and audio. The new electrical system reliably powers high-wattage appliances and can be monitored remotely. The audio system delivers strong, clear bass from the custom rear subwoofer. Everything was installed to look and work as it came from the factory, so the vehicle stays practical and capable.
